Moonlight on the City Shawl

Crochet this Moonlight on the City Shawl using the interlocking crochet technique or the overlay mosaic crochet technique. The fully written pattern and charts for both techniques are included.

This design is similar to Skyline Shawl. I couldn’t decide which skyline design I liked best so I published both! Besides different colored skies they also have different stars and this pattern has a much busier city.

You can use any colors you like. The more they contrast, the better the design will show.

And, of course, POCKETS! We all need another pocket, and I like using the pockets as a sort of handle to help me keep the shawl where I want it.

You will receive three files:

* Interlocking Crochet pattern and multi-page chart for starting with the LONG bottom edge,
* Interlocking Crochet pattern and multi-page chart for starting at the short SIDE,
* Mosaic Crochet pattern and multi-page X-marked chart.

You may want to start with the pockets first as practice with the interlocking mesh and as a gauge swatch.

The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.

Mosaic crochet uses single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row (overlay). The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting).
