March Knot
Each monthly Celtic knot design can be made using the written pattern or charts for either interlocking crochet (bottom-up) or overlay mosaic crochet (bottom-up or center-out).

This is a digital file. These loops look like hearts to me, and I considered using them for February but it also reminds me of a clover so I figured it could fit in the month of March with St. Patrick’s Day.

**You will receive:**
– One file for the interlocking crochet technique: full written pattern and one-page chart (81 x 81)
– One file for the center-out overlay mosaic crochet technique: full written pattern and 1/4 square x-marked chart (77 x 77)
– One file for the bottom-up overlay mosaic crochet technique: full written pattern, single-page and multi-page x-marked charts (77 x 77)
For the Celtic knot series of squares, the interlocking crochet technique uses a chart size of 81 x 81; the mesh dots and extra border lines have been removed for the mosaic version so that chart size is 77 x 77. The interlocking crochet version is done from the bottom-up. There are two overlay mosaic crochet options; one is done from the center-out and the other from the bottom-up.

______
The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.
Mosaic crochet is single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. When worked from the bottom-up you cut your yarn at the end of each row; when worked from the center-out you can carry your yarn up the corner. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting).
