Magazine version was mosaic crochet only and written in UK terminology. Now that the rights to the pattern have reverted to me, I am publishing it using my normal template. I use US terminology and I write up my patterns for two techniques: interlocking crochet and overlay mosaic crochet. Charts are also included (x’s mark the dropped dc for the mosaic version).

The black and white sample in the image uses only two colors and was done by an Anonymous Squirrel using the interlocking technique. The mosaic sample I made for the magazine uses 7 colors (1 main color and a series of 6 contrasting colors). I used Scheepjes Organicon yarn (4-ply, fingering weight) that they supplied. **For Interlocking Crochet**
• Scheepjes Organicon (Or any fingering weight yarn to meet gauge) (1850 yards total)
o Main color (MC) – 900 yards plus 50 for optional border
o Accent color (AC) – 150 yards each of 6 colors, 900 yards total
– Crochet hook: 3 mm (C/2)
– Stitch marker
– Gauge: 13 stitches x 26 rows in one color = 4” square

**For Mosaic Crochet**
• Scheepjes Organicon (Or any fingering weight yarn to meet gauge) (170m per 50g skein/ball) (1156 yards total)
o Main color (MC) – 3 balls (510 m / 558 yards)
o Accent color (AC) – 1 ball each in 6 colors (90 m / 98 yards of each color)
– Crochet hook: 3 mm (C/2)
– Scissors
– Gauge: 26 stitches x 26 rows = 4″ square

The mosaic version has fringe along both sides as a by-product of the technique. You may wish to add fringe to your interlocking project.

I wish I had a better picture of myself, but I was too excited to get dressed up before taking my photo with the magazine; that’s my “is this real?” face.

Also included in Parisian Wall Hangings Bundle.

The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.

Mosaic crochet uses single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting).

I have YouTube tutorials available for both crochet methods! Follow this link to get to my YouTube channel and find my other social links: https://ashleeslint.com/link-in-bio
