Hanukkah 40
Hanukkah 40 can be made as a large square or a rectangle (with the full star) using the interlocking crochet technique or the overlay mosaic crochet technique. The fully written pattern and charts for both techniques are included.

Originally this square was created as part of my ‘2020 Holiday Squares eBook‘ bundle. The chart was 81 x 81 to fit with the other patterns in the set. The bottom part of the star was cropped to fit into that chart size.
An updated chart where the full star is shown on a chart size of 81 x 87 was created later and is available here in this same listing.
Both patterns were originally available for interlocking crochet and overlay mosaic crochet using the same chart (dotted) and both designs now include an adjusted, solid overlay mosaic crochet option. Learn more about these techniques at https://ashleeslint.com/tutorials/interlocking-and-mosaic-crochet/.
You will receive six files: three technique options to make the square and three technique options to make the full star as a rectangle.
– Hannukkah 40 (square): interlocking pattern & a one-page chart (81 x81)

_________
The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.
Mosaic crochet is single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting).
