Blooming Owl Wall Hanging
This wall hanging features a floral owl I drew after being inspired by husband’s classical guitar shoulder strap. Both the interlocking and mosaic options are crocheted sideways.
$6.00
My husband has a guitar strap that always makes me think of owls. I crocheted my sample using the overlay mosaic technique, but like all of my patterns, this pattern is written up for two techniques and you can choose which one to use!
Adding a Dowel tutorial: https://youtu.be/7Pdq4Gcd2yM
**You will receive one file containing:**
– the interlocking pattern (including instructions for adding fringe and attaching a dowel)
– a one-page chart
and a second file containing:
– the overlay mosaic pattern (including instructions for attaching a dowel)
– a multi-page chart marked with X’s
The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.
Mosaic crochet uses single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting).

Wow, I had never tried mosaic crochet but I really enjoyed it! The pattern looks really professional and meticulous, I would love to try more designs like this!

This looks daunting but I can do it! I can’t wait to start. I’ve bought from this seller before and will again.

The finished project looks great. Directions were easy enough to follow, although it took me a few rows and a lot of patience to get the hang of mosaic crochet.
