This bundle of patterns includes 15 designs. Each design is written up three ways! You can use the interlocking crochet technique, or the original overlay mosaic crochet version (which used the interlocking charts, and thus has mesh dots all over it), or you can use the adjusted solid overlay mosaic crochet version (where the mesh dots and extra border lines have been removed).
You will receive three files.
Each file contains all 15 squares in the specified technique. Each file also contains “Hanukkah FULL” which is an elongated rectangle showing the full star. The adjusted overlay mosaic crochet file also includes “Ashlee’s Snowflake” written for the center-out technique (along with the normal bottom-up). Includes the fully written line-by-line pattern and chart for each pattern (mosaic charts have x’s).
• Ashlee’s 2020 Block (right-handed and left-handed instructions)
• Ashlee’s Snowflake (plus bonus center-out version in Adjusted Mosaic file only)
• Ashlee’s Snowflake of Hearts
• Chimney
• Decorated Tree
• Dove
• Glowing Lanterns
• Hanukkah and Hanukkah FULL (square and rectangle patterns)
• Jingle Bells
• Lace Snowflake
• Nativity
• Prancing Deer
• Sleigh
• Snowflake Sparkle
• Stocking
Each square is on a 81 x 81 chart. That means you start with 40 windows when you use the interlocking / Locked Filet Mesh technique and they finish to about 20″ square when you meet my gauge; you start with 81 stitches when you use the mosaic technique. Of course, the gauge isn’t super important as long as you make all the squares the same size. And, when you use the overlay mosaic technique you have to do something about those pesky tails (I usually do a simple envelope border, see YouTube: Ashlee’s Lazy Envelope Border).
The adjusted mosaic crochet version has had the mesh dots and extra border lines removed so they are only 77 x 77.
The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.
Mosaic crochet is single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting).
